It is Official!

Well it is official! Mikie has received his Driver's License! It was a close call, there for a bit we thought that he was going to have to wait until next week. Just as we walked into the DMV the state's Computer Server went down! OH NO!!! The state of Utah has adopted a 4 day week, they are opened Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm. With this being Thursday we figured that it just wasn't meant to be. The oh so friendly workers at the Washington County DMV let everyone know that they didn't know when the computers would be up and regardless they would be closing at 6pm tonight and not open back up until Monday morning. We were all welcome to wait, but there were no guarantees that they would be back up today.

Given the option to leave and come back or sit as long as 3 hours for the smallest chance that the computers will be back up and running so that they can get the long awaited Driver's license...... Can you guess what a 16 year old would choose. Now, if you are waiting in line for more than 10 minutes at the pharmacy for a life saving prescription, or sitting in the Emergency room for a siblings broken arm, they would say "Let's Come Back Later". But this is Life ALTERING, Time honored and of course 3 hours is well worth the wait!

Thankfully..... It didn't take 3 hours! The Computers were only down for about 30 minutes. (ALOT of people chose not to wait!) So when the workers said to form a line Mikie was the FASTEST and got in spot Number 1! It took about 2.2 minutes from that point and we were out the door. We left the house thinking it would be at least an hour if not two, arrived to think it would be even longer and more likely than not we wouldn't even accomplish anything, but it turned out that we were really only there for about 45 minutes Tops!!! Now you can't beat that!
